The intelligence layer below the indexed web.
THINKPOL was founded in 2024 by Mat Gillard and Lucas Dominguez to make the grey web searchable, structured and actionable for security and intelligence teams.
Our story
Mat served in the French Foreign Legion, then completed an intelligence diploma at Sciences Po before operating from a GSOC abroad. Lucas spent years reverse-engineering Meta's internal platforms and building production infrastructure at OVHcloud. Neither of us came from a VC-backed startup.
We both arrived at the same problem from different directions: the signals that matter to investigators aren't on the open web. They're in Reddit threads, Telegram channels, and Discord servers — communities where intent forms weeks before action. Conventional OSINT tools weren't built for this terrain. We built THINKPOL to be.
The breakthrough wasn't a model: it was the index. 30B+ posts archived with deletion recovery, refreshed every 10 seconds, with behavioral, linguistic and geographic enrichment on every record. A full grey web memory, queryable in under 300ms.
How we build
and operate.
Publicly accessible only
We never collect from behind authentication barriers. No re-identification of pseudonymous individuals.
Zero customer retention
We don't store your queries or results. Only API request volume and type are counted, for billing.
Sovereign by construction
Classified deployments stay on-premise. Customer data never leaves their infrastructure.
Evidence-grade output
Every action is auditable. Chain-of-custody metadata is usable in court and across agencies.
Real-time by default
Sub-300ms search on a 30B+ archive, refreshed every 10 seconds across every monitored surface.
Grey web native
Built for the grey web from day one; not retrofitted from open-web tooling.
Why we built this.
On the gap between what analysts need and what the OSINT market actually provides.
"OSINT vendors stopped at the open web. The signals that actually shape incidents live one layer deeper: in the semi-public communities where intent forms before action. We built THINKPOL to make that layer searchable, in 40+ languages, with chain-of-custody on every byte."

How we got here.
Mat and Lucas meet in college and build their first SaaS together, reverse-engineering Meta's platforms from the ground up.
At VivaTech, they discover major fashion brands losing revenue to counterfeit networks operating in plain sight on Reddit. They pivot to grey web intelligence. Mat enrolls at Sciences Po for a diploma in Intelligence.
First prototype launches. Mat operates from a GSOC abroad; Lucas scales the ingestion layer to 30B+ posts. Early adoption by security researchers and CTI teams validates the core index.
Real-time ingestion goes live. First national security and law enforcement customers onboarded. INTERPOL engagement and ISS World debut confirm the B2G positioning.

Grey web intelligence for national security, law enforcement, CTI and corporate security teams. Built in France, hosted in the EU.
