Disboard alternatives: the listing sites that still work, and why invites beat all of them.

Disboard is a public listing of Discord servers. A server owner adds the Disboard bot, registers the server on disboard.org with a description and up to five tags, and then anyone in the server can run the /bump command once every two hours. Each bump moves the listing back to the top of every tag page it belongs to. Browsing is free and needs no account; visibility is a function of how often someone remembers to bump.

That mechanic is the reason people look elsewhere. A listing that is not bumped sinks within hours under servers that are, so the front pages show the most persistent promoters rather than the most relevant communities, and whole categories fill with servers whose only activity is the bump itself. Owners go looking for a second listing site; investigators go looking for anything that indexes servers the owners did not choose to advertise. Those are two different problems, and the sites below solve only the first.

We loaded every listing site that ranks for "disboard alternative" on 9 September 2026. Three of the names people still recommend now redirect somewhere else: discord.st sends you to Discadia, disforge.com sends you to DiscordServers.io, and discordservers.me sends you to Discords.com. The AI Overview on that search still lists Discord.st and DiscordServers.me as separate options. They are not.

None of these sites indexes a server that was not submitted to it. Every entry is self-selected advertising, which is exactly the population an investigation is least interested in. For the tool side of Discord work, ID resolvers and exports, see the Discord OSINT guide.

A listing site answers "show me a server about X". It cannot answer "find the server these people are using", because the servers that matter in fraud, extremism, piracy or harassment cases do not bump. They recruit through invite links dropped where their audience already is: a subreddit, a Steam group, a YouTube description, a Telegram channel, a game's chat.

Ranking also lies. A server at the top of a tag page is the one that bumped most recently, not the one with the most members or the most activity; some listings sell placement outright. Member counts on listings are self-reported at registration and go stale. Treat a listing as a lead to verify with the server's own invite, never as a measurement.

Two identifiers matter. The server ID is a 17 to 19 digit snowflake that encodes the server's creation time, exactly like a user ID, and it never changes. The invite code is the short string after discord.gg/ that a member generated; one server can have many codes, and a code can die while the server lives on.

Discord's Invites 101 page states that the invite panel shows a seven-day link by default, and that an owner can shorten it to 30 minutes, cap the number of uses, or, in a Community server, make it permanent. So an invite found in the wild has three possible states: it resolves to the server (name, member count, creation date, vanity URL if any), it has expired while the server still exists, or the server itself is gone. Resolving a code costs nothing: paste it into Discord's invite screen, or into the invite checker on dclookup.id or NicheProwler, and record the server ID it returns before the code expires. The ID is what survives.

The largest public index of Discord invites is not a listing site. It is Reddit. Subreddit AutoModerators post the community's discord.gg link on every new thread, owners announce their servers in recruitment posts, and scam reports name the server a fraud was run from. THINKPOL's archive holds 30 billion Reddit posts and comments captured at publication since 2005; "discord" appeared in 23.6 million of them in 2025 alone and in 16.9 million in 2026 by 9 September.

Two properties make that index useful. It is not self-selected: a server that never registered anywhere is still there if a member once pasted its invite. And it survives deletion: when a subreddit is banned or a post is removed, the archived copy keeps the invite next to the community, the account that posted it and the date. When r/soccerstreams was shut down, its successor communities coordinated exactly that way; the reconstruction is in from ban to respawn. Run the search yourself: discord.gg/ across the archive, or search a server name, a vanity URL or the topic in Reddit search and pivot on the posting accounts with user lookup. Banned communities are reconstructed with subreddit lookup.

THINKPOL does not index Discord servers and does not archive Discord content. It archives Reddit, including the posts and communities that no longer exist on the live site, with full-text search in under 300 milliseconds from EU-hosted infrastructure.
